Tasks: As research coordinator of the newly established School of Embedded Composite AI (SECAI) you are in charge of a nationally visible initiative for strengthening AI in research and higher education. SECAI is one of three DAAD Konrad Zuse Schools of Excellence in AI and will be realised as a collaboration between TU Dresden and Leipzig University. You are leading the coordination office of the school (with its own secretary support) and coordinate the professional development of SECAI in close collaboration with the management board and the partners. There is opportunity for own research activity and further scientific qualification at the chair for Knowledge-Based System of the Faculty of Computer Science.

Opportunities: We are offering a first-class environment for advancing your career, with possible paths towards research management and/or research in the area of hybrid AI methods. As project coordinator, you can expand your network with leading technology companies and with national and international research partners. SECAI is planned to continue until the end of 2027, and funding is planned for the whole project duration.

Topics: SECAI considers a broad spectrum of topics in AI, including foundations, methods, hardware, and medical AI applications. At the chair of Knowledge-Based Systems, the topical focus will be in foundational research in symbolic AI, especially in knowledge representation and information processing. Own research should connect to this theme, but is also welcome to contribute new topics and fresh perspectives.

Requirements: Research-oriented university degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, or other closely related fields; very good knowledge of English and German. A doctoral degree in a related field is an advantage, as are prior experiences in international research. Prior knowledge in research management is not strictly necessary, but experience in organisation and management are helpful. Technical skills related to publishing (LaTeX, Web, etc.) are a plus.
