Public Transport
As many other German cities, Dresden has got an excellent system of public transport. For further information, please see the Web site of the public transport companies.
Semester Ticket
By paying the semester contribution, students obtain the so called Semester Ticket, which is valid on all buses, trams, the S-Bahn and Elbe ferries of DVB (Dresden Transport Services). In connection with a valid identity card (i.e., passport) the semester ticket is accepted on all kinds of public transport throughout the Dresden region ("Zone Dresden").
