How to Apply for the MSc Program?
If you fulfill the prerequisites, you are encouraged to apply for this program. Please consider that our program starts in the Winter semester, only.
Application Period
- For (prospective) degree holders from non-German institutions of higher education
- 1 April - 31 May: non-EU-nationals
- 1 April - 15 July: German or EU-nationals
- For all other applicants
- 1 June - 15 July: (prospective) graduates from TU Dresden or other German institutions of higher education
- 1 April - 15 July: Applicants who received already an admission to a previous MCL course

Required Documents
- Application form
- Application form for assessment of aptitude and admission
- Curriculum Vitae
- Statement of purpose
- Copy of the passport or identity card
- Higher Secondary School Certificate / Intermediate Examination Certificate
- Reports on university examinations (transcripts) and diploma (first degree or bachelor degree). If the bachelor degree will only be available after the deadline, students are required to send us a PRELIMINARY certificate. This document must be signed and stamped by the home university and inform on the expected end of the studies.
- English language certificate as stated here. We recommend to take the TOEFL or IELTS test as the German embassy in some countries requests these certificates for the visa application. We strongly advise to check the visa requirements at an early stage!
- For Chinese, Mongolian and Vietnamese students only: The original APS certificate
Admission Procedure
Complete applications are evaluated by the Admission Committee on the basis of the Regulations for the Aptitude Assessment Procedure. The applicants will be informed by email on the acceptance /rejection of the application until 30 June.
International students will receive an email from the TUD International Office and can download the admission letter ("Zulassungsbescheid") provided by the TUD online portal. This letter should be used to apply for a student visa to the German Embassy of the student's home country.
