ICCL Researchers Win Award at International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence
TU Dresden researchers Markus Krötzsch and Sebastian Rudolph have had the privilege to receive the IJCAI-2015 Honorable Mention for their work presented at this year's International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI). The world-leading conference on artificial intelligence thereby recognized the outstanding contribution of the article Reasonable Highly Expressive Query Languages, which the Dresden researchers co-authored with Pierre Bourhis (CRNF LIFL). The article is an extensive investigation of the theoretical properties of novel query languages, which might, e.g., be relevant in future graph databases.
IJCAI is the most important conference in artificial intelligence, which brings together world-leading researchers in this field every other year (from 2016 on every year). IJCAI 2015 took place in Buenos Aires and registered a record number of 1,996 submissions. The work of the Dresden researchers is one of only three submissions that have been honoured with an award amongst this large number of entries.
